Buffy was born in 1981 in Sunnydale, California a daughter of Joyce Halliwell a witch, and Hank Summers a mortal man. After the death of her mother, she discovered she had cousins who lived in San Fransisco, California. Prue became Buffy's guardian immediately because she was underage and Buffy was forced to move to her cousin's house in San Fransisco, California. Buffy bonded with Phoebe immediately and they shared Phoebe's room together.
